The SEA Bridge is designed for instructors leading autistic and neurodivergent students. As a web-based curriculum, we have accessibility options for many different needs, including text-to-speech, motor skill support, and much more. No, the SEA Bridge is not a school. It is a online-based, educator-led curriculum tailored for autistic and neurodivergent youth ages 5-10. The SEA Bridge is facilitated by independent teachers, therapists, and other providers. Parents and caregivers who are interested in the SEA Bridge for their child,  send us an email and we can try to help find a SEA Bridge provider near you! 

The SEA Bridge subscription is intended to be used and facilitated by educators and clinicians. As a subscriber, you have access to the entire curriculum online including all the provided materials to then facilitate with students either virtually or in-person. We set it up this way to better help meet students’ individual needs. Clinicians and educators using the curriculum can adapt the workshops (i.e. skipping over the music or adding in more discussion questions) based on their students’ needs.

As many as you’d like! The SEA Bridge is intended to be used in small group or one-on-one settings and can be used across multiple groups or individual sessions.

The 40 workshops are split into two sessions and build on themselves. Each of the following topics are covered across two workshops, where generally the first workshop introduces the concept (i.e. “what is it”) and the second workshop supports students with strategies moving forward (i.e. “what to do”).

Session 1 includes:

• Being together, being me
• Recognizing and understanding similarities and difference
• Building bridges of understanding between two people
• Getting my needs met
• Identifying emotions in myself
• Responding to my emotions
• Recognizing emotions in others
• Responding to big feelings in others
• Handling changes in my environment
• Knowing my strengths and finding a place in my community

Session 2 includes:

• Must haves and nice to haves (needs vs wants)
• Negotiating and setting boundaries
• Different ways of communicating
• Balancing communication differences
• Interoception
• Feeling different emotions simultaneously
• Diversity and equity
• Different ways to care for people
• Managing burnout and crisis
• Finding pride in neurodivergence

We are a strong supporter of the disability justice mantra, “Nothing about us, without us.” That is why we have made sure to include feedback, research, and opinions of autistic individuals throughout the creation of the SEA Bridge curriculum. We have received feedback through surveys and focus groups and autistic individuals have been involved in the direct creation of lessons and activities. Are you autistic or neurodivergent and interested in helping shape the future for others in the neurodivergent community? We’d love to hear from you!

Yes! The SEA Bridge is intended to be used by therapists, SLPs, OTs, and educators while the HAVEN Bridge is tailored for parents and families to use at home. If your child is using the SEA Bridge with a provider, using the HAVEN Bridge will reinforce those concepts at home. Plus, if you contact your provider they may have a coupon code for you to use to access the HAVEN Bridge at a discounted price!

Yes! The main SEA Bridge curriculum is facilitated by a clinician or educator to ensure the content is adapted to meet the needs of individual students. Included with the curriculum materials are supports that the SEA Bridge leader will send home to extend students’ learning in the home environment. These resources include:

• Weekly at home activities to be completed with the whole family.
• A Bi-weekly newsletter to support family members in better understanding the concepts of neurodiversity and how to create a neurodiversity-affirming home environment.
• For families wanting extra support, we suggest they add the HAVEN Bridge (Home Allies, Validating and Empowering Neurodiversity) to supplement the SEA Bridge and boost their efforts to create a home environment that is neurodiversity affirming.

You don’t have to have a specific degree or certificate to use the SEA Bridge. We recommend that you have experience working with neurodivergent youth in some capacity in order to feel confident in adapting the materials to meet the specific needs of your students.

Yes. We’ve intentionally structured our lessons based on evidence-based practices (EBPs) established by scientific, peer-reviewed research. The EBPs have been situated within feedback we gathered from the Autistic and Neurodivergent communities on their priorities and needs. Read more about how each EBP practice is incorporated into the SEA Bridge learning modules.

The SEA Bridge is designed to be used 1:1 or in a small group setting, with kids of all neurotypes and can be implemented in private practice or public schools. Due to the interactive nature of the program, we recommend that the groups be no more than 5 students. See below for examples of how the SEA Bridge might work for you!

If you are a:

• Speech Pathologist or Occupational Therapist the SEA Bridge offers neurodiversity affirming content for “social skills” groups! Weekly lessons can be modified to last 30-60 minutes depending on the needs of your students. Many clinicians also opt to use the program with their students 1:1, and some find that a mix of 1:1 and small group work is the best choice for their students.
• Special education/ Inclusion teacher or School Psychologist the SEA Bridge can be used in the special or general education classroom with small groups of children during rotations or as an opt-in “lunch bunch” group to support neurotypical and neurodivergent children in understanding one another.
• Home school educator the SEA Bridge can be used in a home school setting to support students in developing a strong sense of self and an understanding of different ways of being. Please use the 30-day free trial period to determine if this program is right for you and your child. If it is, you may contact us for a homeschool discount.

Note- The SEA Bridge is a formal curriculum meant to be adapted and implemented by a clinician or educator, so for families not currently homeschooling we recommend the HAVEN Bridge for support in developing a neurodiversity-affirming home environment.

Our standard monthly or yearly plan is intended to be used by an individual, and it includes a single login. However, we work with organizations directly to create institutional licenses and pricing for our multi-user subscription which can be shared across clinicians or educators. Contact us so that we can work together on a customized plan that’s right for you.

The SEA Bridge free trial includes 4 weekly lessons (a full month of content!). During your trial we invite you to take a look at the first four lessons and their accompanying materials (caregiver handouts, at home activities etc.). We also recommend that you review the getting started materials where you will find our Workshop Topic Overview guide that will give you a preview of the full scope of the curriculum.

You can use your trial time to determine if your students are receptive to the program or share it with your administration to see if your school or organization is open to purchasing the SEA Bridge. The SEA Bridge trial is completely obligation free and can be cancelled at any time during the trial period. After the trial ends, you will automatically be enrolled in our $49.00/ month plan, which can be cancelled at any time. At this time, you can also opt into our yearly plan for $539/year and get 1 month free. Once you become a full member, you’ll unlock our full curriculum of 40+ workshops.
